Wayland SADD
Students Against Destructive Decisions was founded at Wayland High School in 1981, and has grown into a multinational organization with thousands and thousands of chapters all over the world. It is the mission of the founding chapter of SADD to inform our peers about the real dangers of unhealthy risk taking--especially when that risk involves alcohol or other drugs. Student members of SADD provide annual substance abuse prevention presentations for students, parents, and teachers. Additionally, SADD at Wayland works to foster a sense of community among different groups of students by holding substance abuse free social events, including dances, festivals, open mic nights, and more. Lastly, we work alongside school administration in selecting guest speakers and educational presentations for whole school prevention themed assemblies.
